Saturday Weekly Roundup

Ok, so I know it is Monday, but I literally had no time to write this post on Saturday, so I wanted to catch you up on what happened last week.

  • The first half of the week was spent preparing for the Story Conference, which we hosted at Park. Some of the prepping included unloading a semi-truck full of production equipment. Our whole stage was basically transformed. It was pretty awesome. You can see the Story flickr stream here.
  • So Story kicked off on Thursday, and it was a very unique conference from any other that I have been to before. I’ve been to other church, art conferences before, but those have been more technical, this conference was very philosophical. I loved it! You can catch up on all the sessions by reading my notes here.
  • Immediately after the conference ended on Friday at 5PM me and my girlfriend left for a wedding in Chattanooga, TN. We drove about halfway and stopped at my house in Kentucky, and slept there for the night, then drove the rest of the way on Saturday morning. I ended up sleeping in a hotel parking lot in the back of my mini-van, which was a first for me. So overall I drove 20 hours within 48 hours over the weekend. I was tired to say the least. But it was worth it. Congratulations to my friends Jordan & Brandi Santos.
  • I was featured on UCLA Screenwriting Professor, Richard Walter’s blog this weekend. My notes from his session at Story 2010 were featured on his blog, and I am going to be writing a Q&A post with him here on my blog in the coming weeks.

That about does it for my week. It was a great action-packed week. Let me know if you have any thoughts about any of the Story 2010 sessions.
