Leaders Do Stuff

  • Yes, I’m a recovering lawyer, my name is Bob.
  • Like you, I want this life of ours to mean something. If we lead strong, we’re going to lead people toward Jesus.
  • My problem with Jesus is that I’ve been saying “Hi” to Jesus, but he’s asking me to follow him.
  • We all want to lead strong, but we end up getting our signals wrong from time to time.
  • I realized I was stalking Jesus. I was just finding out all of these facts about him, but wasn’t doing anything.
  • 1 John 3:16 – Let us not love with words and speech, but with action and truth.
  • We don’t do stuff so Jesus will think we’re swell. We do stuff so we’ll know the answer to these questions: Who are you? And what do you want?
  • Matthew 5 – Love your enemies.
  • Everytime someone asks how you are doing, you should think, I’m trying to be awesome!
  • I want to move from just agreeing with Jesus to actually doing stuff.
  • Love God. Love people. And do stuff.
  • You don’t want employees. You want a friend.
  • Everytime you do stuff, something good happens. But you gotta figure out what you were made to do.
  • Live a life worthy of the calling you’ve received.
  • If you want to figure out what you were made to be, let it develop over time. Don’t rush it.
  • Sometimes as people are developing around us, we think in leadership, we have to give them pointers.
  • If we weren’t afraid in leadership, we could live a life worthy of the high calling that we’ve received.
  • I’m a poser. Some of you are posing too. Just be you.
  • See people for who they’re becoming. Not who they were.
  • Love your enemies so you can be awesome, like your Father in heaven is.
  • If you want to lead strong in your communities, say yes! But you don’t have to say yes to everything.
  • Every Thursday I quit something. If you make some margin, Jesus will put some terrific things in there.
  • God’s ability to forgive us, is not limited by our ability to get it.
  • You want to get stuff right in leadership, just put the exclamation point at the end of the right stuff.
