Monday Wake Up

It’s Monday and we’ve been living in our new apartment for 9 days. We moved from a studio to a 2 bedroom. I literally don’t know what to do with all of the space sometimes. I’ve found myself just standing in our new apartment, trying to figure out where to walk and where to sit. In our old studio we literally had a bed, and one chair. So it was either sit on the bed or sit in the chair. We’re thankful for our time in the studio because it taught us to do more with the space we have. Efficiency is key in the city.

But we didn’t just move here to have more space. More importantly we moved here to be closer to the students that we’ve been working with, and it has already proved to be beneficial in connecting with them. We’re happy to be here.

In Later News…

  • A blog post was written in Social Media Today about how social media kept a church’s doors open. It’s an interesting post and definitely worth checking out. Do you have stories of transformation from your church’s use of social media?
  • Zach Braff, the guy from Scrubs is directing a new film, and it looks great, but what looks even more great is that he is funding it completely through Kickstarter. This is an amazing new model, and I’m interested to see how Kickstarter continues to fund projects like this. Check it out.
  • Steve Fogg recently did a collaborative blog post talking about rookie mistakes to avoid in non-profit social media. One of my favorites comes from Adam Jeske who says, “Don’t broadcast.” Check out the entire post.
  • With over 40% of people’s time on Facebook spent on the Newsfeed, it’s safe to say that you need to understand Edgerank and create posts that work in the Newsfeed. SocialMouths wants to help us do that. Check it out.

Finally, I’m sure by now you’ve seen the Dove campaign, “You’re more beautiful than you think.” If not, you can watch it below. I was absolutely moved the first time I watched.
